Sixty-five chefs, restaurant owners and other culinary leaders joined us to launch the Bee Friendly Food Alliance. Through the Alliance, chefs and restaurateurs are calling attention to the importance of bees to our food supply, the dramatic die-off of bee populations, and the need to protect our pollinators. This morning, the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee passed the Puget Sound Recover Act, and seven other clean water bills to restore and protect America’s great waters, including bills to protect Long Island Sound, Chesapeake Bay, Columbia River, Gulf of Mexico, San Francisco Bay, Great Lakes, and estuaries across the country.
Today, the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure held a hearing on protecting the Columbia River. A bill in the House would address the current threats to this waterway and would provide funding for restoration.
