Gov. Gregoire and the Legislature launched the Puget Sound Partnership to create a cleanup plan to stop pollution and restore the Sound by 2020.

We’re pushing for a plan that addresses the root causes of pollution by creating smarter restrictions on the development that’s choking the Sound. It would also set aside areas around the San Juan Islands and Protection Island as a marine preserve, and restore habitat critical to marine life.
