Background:

Bill LaBorde is the Program Director for Environment Washington. Before joining WashPIRG, Bill was the campaign chair for the Yes on I-937, Clean Energy Initiative campaign. As the state lobbyist for the NW Energy Coalition, he played a leading role in passing state energy efficiency standards, a carbon mitigation requirement for siting new power plants and state tax credits for households installing solar energy systems. Bill serves on the boards of Tacoma Public Utilities, NW Energy Coalition and Renewable NW Project. Bill also serves on the Sound Transit Citizen Oversight Panel and has worked as the director of state policy for Transportation Choices Coalition. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Seattle University Law School.
